Eligible Recipients

  • Shoppers who purchase goods worth KRW 15,000 or more

    ※ Items marked with a "*" on the receipt are duty-free goods and NOT tax refundable.

  • Shoppers who leave Korea within 3 months of purchase

  • Shoppers who meet any of the following criteria

    · Foreigners: Foreign nationals who are staying in Korea for less than 6 months
    · Korean nationals residing abroad: Korean citizens who have resided overseas for more than 2 years and are staying in Korea for less than 3 months
    · Non-tax residents: Individuals not subject to tax payment obligations.

Refund Process When Using a Self-checkout

Immediate Tax Refund

When using a self-checkout at Lotte Mart to pay for your items, you can immediately deduct the refund amount from the payment due. For cashier-assisted checkouts, please follow the cashier’s instructions.

  • When payment is prompted, select “Immediate Tax Refund.” A manager will assist your with your ID verification.

  • The amount of tax refund due is indicated in the payment details. Once the tax refund has been deducted, "TAX FREE” will be displayed next to the total amount due.

    Make payment

* An immediate tax refund can be issued for any purchase ranging from KRW 15,000 to KRW 999,999 per person. During your stay (up to 3 months), you can receive tax refunds for a total of up to KRW 5,000,000.

Post Tax Refund

Alternatively, you can receive your refund at the airport or port terminal after making purchases at a Lotte Mart store.

  • On the day of your departure from Korea, receive your tax refund at a tax refund kiosk located in the airport or port terminal.

* For post-tax refunds, you need to fill in your passport information on the "refund receipt" and have it validated by customs at the airport or port terminal before you can receive the refund.

    When payment is prompted, select “Post-Refund" and scan your passport. If you choose to skip scanning your passport, your passport details need to be entered manually.
